From Your City to Our French I Do
We know it’s a journey, so we’ve gathered some travel tips and suggestions to help make your trip as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Whether you’re flying in from California, Wisconsin, or beyond, here are our recommendations to help you start planning your travels.
***Tip: Sometimes it can be more cost-effective to book two one-way tickets instead of a round trip. Airline pricing can vary depending on the route and carrier, so it’s worth comparing both options before you book.
Flight Options
Los Angeles, California
Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from Los Angeles to Nice. Many travelers choose to fly from LAX to Paris and then connect onward to Nice, though there are also routes through major European hubs such as London, Barcelona, or Lisbon.
Another option is to fly from Los Angeles to Atlanta or New York first, as both cities offer nonstop flights to Nice. This can sometimes make the trip feel easier by breaking it up into shorter segments.
For our own travel, we booked a single itinerary from Los Angeles to Nice with one layover. We found this to be more cost-effective than booking a separate flight to Paris and then another flight from Paris to Nice. Many airlines offer similar one-ticket flights with layovers, and if Nice is your final destination, this is often the easiest and most affordable option.
We also know that some of you may be traveling to Paris first as part of your vacation, which is a great option as well.
Milwaukee, Madison, or Appleton, Wisconsin
Most guests traveling from Wisconsin will be flying out of Milwaukee, Madison, or Appleton. These routes usually involve a few layovers, most often connecting through Chicago, Minneapolis or Detroit.
If you’re able to fly directly out of Chicago O’Hare, that’s usually the easiest option. From Chicago, you can connect through New York (JFK or Newark), which both offer nonstop flights to Nice, or fly through Paris and continue on to Nice. Chicago also has routes into other major European cities such as London or Barcelona, where you can make a quick connection to Nice.
New York City, New York
Guests traveling from New York have one of the easiest routes. There are nonstop flights from both JFK and Newark directly to Nice. If you prefer, you can also connect through Paris or another major European city, but the nonstop option is usually the most convenient.
